At Mornington Moggie Rescue, our mission is to save and improve the lives of cats and kittens across the Mornington Peninsula — and we couldn’t do it without our amazing volunteers!
If you’re looking to make a difference, meet new people, learn new skills, and be part of a passionate, animal-loving team, we’d love to have you join us. Our volunteers come from all walks of life but share one common goal: giving cats and kittens the second chance they deserve.
Whether you’re caring for foster cats, helping out at events, transporting animals, or working behind the scenes, every role plays an important part in our mission. Volunteer FAQ's
Can I volunteer to spend time with the cats and kittens?
As we are a foster-based rescue, we don’t have one central shelter location. All of our cats and kittens are cared for in loving foster homes. However, many of our volunteer roles — such as helping at adoption events, transporting cats to vet appointments, assisting with fundraising, or fostering — will give you the chance to spend time with our adorable moggies.
How old do I have to be to volunteer?
Most volunteer roles require you to be 18 or over. Some opportunities may be available for younger volunteers with parental involvement or permission.
Do I have to live on the Mornington Peninsula to volunteer?
Not necessarily! Many of our volunteers live on the Mornington Peninsula and surrounding areas. However, as most of our vet clinics, adoption events, and fundraising activities take place locally, you’ll need to have the means to travel to the Peninsula when required.
How do I apply to volunteer?
Simply complete our volunteer application form, and our volunteer coordinator will be in touch to have a chat about how you’d like to get involved. If you’re interested in fostering, please fill out our foster application instead.
